Residents of Ajax are lucky to enjoy walking trails along the shores of Lake Ontario and the beautiful Duffins Creek and Carruthers Creek waterways. Several acres of natural parkland and forested areas can be found throughout the town. Though Ajax already has a very busy downtown around the intersection of Harwood Avenue and Bayly Street, there are plans underway to revamp this area with the new Ajax City Centre. This area will feature new condo buildings, office towers, shopping malls and plazas along landscaped streets.
